Slashing Services for Acreage and Paddocks

Slashing services for blocks where the grass has got away from you: long paddocks, overgrown lots, fire breaks and the boundary strip a ride-on won't touch. After a wet summer it can go from tidy to knee-high in a few weeks, and that's when snakes, fire risk and council letters start.

TW Horticultural Services runs a tractor slasher across the Lockyer Valley, Somerset and Ipswich, so blocks at Fernvale, Lowood and Marburg are regular work for us. Send a photo of the block and the gate first. We'll tell you if the tractor fits and roughly what it'll cost before you book.

Grass past your knees? Upload a photo of the block and the gate through the quote form and we'll come back with a price.

What our slashing services cover

We slash acreage, paddocks, fire breaks and overgrown blocks with a tractor slasher. These are the jobs we get called for.

  • Slashing-TRUCK

    Acreage and block slashing

Long grass on a lifestyle block gets away fast after rain. We cut it back so the block is tidy and easier to keep on top of. Block slashing suits lots where the grass is too long or too rough for a mower.

  • Slashing-TRUCK

Paddock slashing for horses and stock

Slashing knocks back weeds and old growth, so fresh pasture can come through for horses and stock. Tell us if stock will be in the paddock on the day and we'll work around them.

  • Slashing-TRUCK

    Overgrown Blocks

Blocks that haven’t been cut in a long time, before a sale, after a council letter, or when a new owner moves in. Grass slashing on a block that's been left for years takes longer, so send a photo and we'll allow for it in the price.

  • Slashing-TRUCK

    Regular slashing visits

Book us on a regular schedule and the grass never gets ahead of you. Most blocks need it more often through the wet summer months.

What to tell us before we slash your block

A few details up front means no surprises on the day:

  • How wide the gate is, and where the tractor gets in
  • Sprinklers, young trees, garden beds and dog fences to leave alone
  • Soft or wet ground, gullies, rocks and steep sections
  • Whether stock will be in the paddock

Upload photos of the gate and the worst bit through the quote form, If the tractor won’t fit, we’ll tell you before you book, not when it’s in your driveway.

What slashing costs in Ipswich and the Lockyer Valley

As a guide, tractor slashing is $107.50 an hour, plus a mobilisation fee based on where your block is. Every block is different, so the total depends on these:

  • The size of the block or paddock
  • How long the grass is, and how long since it was last cut
  • Slope, rocks and gullies
  • Access, and how easy the gate is to get through
  • How much there is to work around
  • A one-off cut or regular visits

Slashing services questions we get asked

As a guide, tractor slashing is $107.50 an hour, plus a mobilisation fee based on where your block is. The total depends on the block size, how long the grass is, the slope and the access. Upload a few photos through the quote form and we'll price your block before you book.

Call 1300 601 192 and we'll give you the next available day. The busiest times are just before fire season and after heavy summer rain, so book early then. If you're working to a council notice or a settlement date, tell us the date when you book and we'll say straight away whether we can make it.

We'll check before you book, so send a photo of the gate with your quote request. If it's tight, tell us about any other way in, like a side paddock or a track off the road, so we can plan the job.

We stop, tell you straight away and work out the fix with you. Long grass hides sprinklers, stumps, star pickets, rocks and pipes, so point out anything you know about before we start. Photos of the worst sections help us spot problems before the tractor gets there.

It depends on rain and how the block is used. Grass grows fastest in the wet summer months, so most blocks need slashing more often then. Tell us about your block and we'll suggest a schedule that keeps it under control

Yes. Paddock slashing knocks back weeds and old growth, so fresh pasture can come through for horses and cattle. Tell us if stock will be in the paddock on the day, and we'll plan the tractor slashing around them. Point out water troughs and electric fence lines too.

Yes. Fernvale, Lowood, Marburg, Laidley, Gatton and Ipswich are all part of our regular run. Further into Brisbane? Call 1300 601 192 with your suburb and we'll tell you if we can get there.
